Smart Trees is a family run Christmas tree farm located in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside. We have been creating magical, educational Christmas adventures for 20 years.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by our friendly team of Santa’s helpers who will talk you through your self-guided visit to Smart Trees. You are free to explore the Christmas tree farm at your own pace, however, to ensure your day runs smoothly you will be given a specific timed ticket for your visit to Father Christmas.

During your visit, you can explore many activities including:

  • A NEW and enhanced outdoor treasure trail, supporting the EYFS and KS1 curriculum
  • Tractor ride with snow
  • Fantastic outdoor play area with a NEW large nest swing
  • A special meeting with Father Christmas and NEW for 2024, reindeer feeding
  • Indoor activities, including Christmas tree decorating and additional games for 2024

Arrival & Departure

  • 09:30am – 10:30am schools arrive at Smart Trees
  • Coach parking is at the lower end of the main grotto car park
  • Santa’s Helpers will be ready to receive you and the school children.
  • Site closes at 3pm however visitors normally leave between 1-2pm to be back at school for regular pick up time.

What to wear

(requirements apply for Children & Teachers)

Our site is located on a farm which, in winter, can get very muddy.

Below is a list of essential items to make sure everyone has a comfortable day with us:

• Wellies
• Hat
• Gloves
• Scarf
• Warm coat / Waterproof
• Change of footwear

Food & Drink

Children must bring their own snacks and packed lunches (NB – No food is available onsite for children during school visits).

Cafe can provide drinks & snacks for teachers & helpers and Caribou shop is also open during school visits (hours tbc).

Children should bring water bottles that can be refilled.

General Information

We have a modern, heated barn, partitioned into areas where children can chalk on the walls, decorate Christmas trees or sit on the straw bales & have a picnic.

At Smart Trees, we have trained first aiders on site. If your children suffer from a medical condition or disability that could potentially stop them from performing outdoor activities, we strongly recommend you inform us prior to arrival.

Wheelchair access is available in the grotto.; please discuss this with us prior to your visit.

Special Educational Needs Schools (SEN)

Please contact info@smarttrees.co.uk for more information on school visits for SEN schools. Please note we do not do individual SEN days.

School FAQs

A: Unfortunately due to the large number of children attending the grotto each day we are unable to supply wellington boots. Children must bring appropriate footwear for a day on the farm.

A: Each school has a dedicated section of the barn used as a central point for the day.

Children/Teachers can use this throughout the day at your leisure including using it for lunch and snacks. For activities, we have a large outdoor play area with Zip wire, Maze and tunnels for the children to play at their leisure until home time.

A: We have fully trained first aid staff onsite and easy access for emergency services across the entire site.
